Corrosion inhibitors ingredients
Corrosion inhibitors or protective fluids help protect metal parts and surfaces against corrosion in aggressive atmospheres, which may be due to oxidation (redox process in the presence of O2) or other agents such as acidic atmosphere, etc. Protective oils are formulated from a basestock and additives, forming a film on the system to be protected that prevents corrosion and chemical attack. The basestock and additives can have a physical action (absorption by polarity on the surface) or a chemical action (chemical reaction with the creation of a bond with the surface to be protected).
Lumar has a wide range of additives available in both chemical and physical action, in different types of base, solvent, aqueous or synthetic. We also have a range of basestocks/additives for the formulation of multi-purpose protection, protection and lubrication oils. They all meet different technical requirements (corrosion tests, including salt spray chamber, dry or oily film type) and also environmental, hygiene and safety requirements, such as those concerning the application method. Protective oils extend the life of systems while being fully aligned with the circular economy.
